Hello! I was wondering if someone would help me
understand the intended use of the -v and -b switches.

I am assuming the -v would be the recommended switch
when using NTOP and MySQL.

However, it appears I can also use -b when running
NTOP and MySQL, but is different in the sense that you
need a script/client (like mySQLserver.pl) to receive
the data from NTOP and insert it into the database.
But maybe since I am running MySQL then the -v would
be recommended over the -b option.

I successfully started NTOP with the -b option using
the mySQLserver.pl script, and I also successfully
started NTOP with the -v option. Both scenarios I saw
data in the database. A question I have though is it
looks like the the script mySQLserver.pl is making
some changes to how it inserts data into the Hosts
table .... and maybe NTOP with the -v option inserts
the data correctly? Just an observation.

One thing to note about a problem I am having when
running with the -b option is that I get a seg fault
when I try to connect to the server via browser (as
soon as I connect to the url it seg faults). I am
currently running NTOP 2.0.99 RC2 on RH7.2 (using RPMs
that come with RH7.2 dist). I will be setting up a
new server tomorrow and testing with the latest snap
shot. I will forward more details about the server
environment and the problem if it still exists after
the upgrade.

Please send me what ever thoughts you have. Thanks!
