My situation is similar. I'm using ntop as a supplement to snort. I'm
actually working on an enhancement to acid to check out the stats for
any IP on the NTOP box(shouldn't be too hard.. just gotta sit down and
do it. ;) My boxes range from PIII-550's to dual 1Ghz... depending on
the amount of traffic they're dealing with.

I've had great stability.. been running for 4 days on the 9/20 snapshot.
