I think for 2Mbit, having them all on the same box is acceptable...

Less CPU, more RAM. You will probably do fine with an older PIII or
Athlon, in the 600Mhz - 1Ghz range. I have a PIII-550 that routinely
sees 9Mbit of traffic...but its not a DB server. Since database serving
is mostly about having things cached and having enough room to work with
large datasets... another 256MB(to bring it to 512) will probably do you
a lot more good than the P4 will(yes, even if its using Rambus).
