1.
I have seen this behavior already before on Linux but didn't use ntop
consistently enough to go after that. Now I have installed 2.1.51 on
Windows .NET and I see this here as well. What happens is that ntop
doesn't resolve the FQDN for some hosts and only displays the IP no.
for them. Note: these hosts *do* have a PTR record, f.i.
195.211.169.211 (which is the machine this ntop is running on) or
216.122.167.109.

Why doesn't it resolve *all* names it could get?

2.
And another issue I discovered in this moment:
The Internet Domain Stats page seems to list more hosts than it
should under the various lables. F.i. I find a domain "something.com"
summed up under "conactive.com" as a host "something" on the page
"Stats for Domain conactive.com" although the lookup for this IP no.
would never create "something.conactive.com". I even get an IP only
host listed under "conactive.com" (and with a US flag, see below).

Also, if a host doesn't have a third-level domain name it gets listed
in the wrong category. F.i.: the host "conactive.com" isn't listed in
the "conactive.com" table but in the "com" table.

3.
Also just discovered: the ordering of host names isn't always
correct, there are always hosts which are not put in the correct
order. Seen on the "Network Traffic: Data Sent/Host Activity" page
F.i. when I order ascending I get this order (just the first
letter/digit):
2
6
6
6
6
b
2
66
62
62
62
b

.. lots of correctly ordered hosts until the end of the alphabet ...

ASCEND (the router)
1 (ntop machine)

And on next refresh it's totally different:
2
6
6
6
6
b
b
62
2
62
2
62
66
f

.. lots of correctly ordered hosts until the end of the alphabet ...

ASCEND (the router)
1 (ntop machine)

t
u
.. and so on to the end of the alphabet

Also, several of the IP only hosts get a US flag although there
shouldn't be one.

Thanks,

Kai
