How about reading the files that come with - and following the directions in
the log messages you're posting?

View the man page and set a -P parameter - it has to be somewhere ntop can
create files, meaning the directory has to exist...

Subject: [Ntop] missing files in ntop

Hi, I just heard of ntop, and I tried to compile it a few times... the
first time I tried in RPM format. That didn't have the
"sortDataReceived.html" or any other needed html files except for the
index and the side panels. All the other html files like the one
previously stated and "home.html" and others. How can this get fixed?
Also, when I run "ntop" in the console, it outputs:

        [EMAIL PROTECTED] ntop]# ntop
Wait please: ntop is coming up...
        21/Feb/2003 22:19:42 Initializing IP services...
SSL is present but https is disabled: use -W <https port> for
enabling it
        21/Feb/2003 22:19:42 Initializing GDBM...
        21/Feb/2003 22:19:42 Database
'/usr/local/var/ntop/addressCache.db' open failed: File open error
        21/Feb/2003 22:19:42 Possible solution: please use '-P <directory>'

        [EMAIL PROTECTED] ntop]# ntop -W 192.168.1.4:3000
Wait please: ntop is coming up...
        21/Feb/2003 22:19:52 Initializing IP services...

        21/Feb/2003 22:19:52 Possible solution: please use '-P <directory>'

        [EMAIL PROTECTED] ntop]# ntop
Wait please: ntop is coming up...
        21/Feb/2003 22:19:55 Initializing IP services...
SSL is present but https is disabled: use -W <https port> for
enabling it
        21/Feb/2003 22:19:55 Initializing GDBM...
        21/Feb/2003 22:19:55 Database
'/usr/local/var/ntop/addressCache.db' open failed: File open error
        21/Feb/2003 22:19:55 Possible solution: please use '-P <directory>'

That file "addressCache.db is not on my box either. What can I do?

Thank you very much,
Lawrence
