Grab the current 'ports' version from SourceForge.  It doesn't seem to have
been picked up yet by the FreeBSD people, but the version you're playing
with is 1) outdated, 2) a beta/release candidate and 3) unsupported.

I have rebuilt my box with FreeBSD Release 5.0 and tried installing the
latest ntop from the ports collection.

I am logged in as root.
