Under RH8 that version works fine for me - the script in the rpm is based on the script I use on all my machines.
You'll have to look more carefully in the logs to see what's wrong. Without some sort of message(s), we're clueless. Check ALL the logs - maybe stuff is being placed somewhere other than /var/log/messages.log by your syslog.conf... -----Burton -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of kent techie Sent: Monday, June 30, 2003 3:36 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [Ntop] RedHat 8 startup script fails I have ntop v2.2 installed on RedHat 8.0. Ntop works fine when I manually start it, but I can't get the startup script that comes with the ntop rpm to work. I don't see any error messages in boot.log or messages, in fact both say that ntop started fine. However ntop is not running. If I go to /etc/rc.d/init.d and manually run "./ntop start" it works fine. Any help would be appreciated. Do you Yahoo!? SBC Yahoo!
