Read the back traffic - MinGW hasn't worked since 2.1.3... Luca uses VC++ 6.0 to distribute the prebuilt version because it's the one platform that is stable for him (he tried C++ .Net and had to back off due to memory management issues).
There's no real MinGW interest among the three developers (Luca, Rocco and myself). Although there's no theoretical reason it couldn't work, Windows + MinGW + MSys is a lot less stable than any other combination. Which is a dis-incentive to the effort. Another set of problems is that while there's a lot of forward movement in the cygwin stuff, the MinGW/Msys stuff tend to lag. Especially WRT prebuilt files. For example, if you check the MinGW pages, the current versions are: gcc-3.2.3-20030504-1.tar.gz ---- May 05, 2003 16:21 MSYS-1.0.8.exe ---- Dec 09, 2002 07:32 mingw-runtime-3.0.tar.gz ---- May 06, 2003 19:51 So, there's finally a current gcc (prior was 3.2 which was ghu awful), but the MSys being six months earlier than MinGW could be an issue. There's a 1.0.9 release candidate, but I'm never comfortable depending upon those. So which files do you tune for?? What we need is somebody with the time, skills and interest to work on the code in the W+M+M environment, keep current and feed patches back to us. I got the same error messages as I wrote in the reference before. <snip /> _______________________________________________ Ntop mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://listgateway.unipi.it/mailman/listinfo/ntop
