Read the back traffic on this list - it's NOT a bug. The error lies between
the chair and keyboard...

ntop creates rrd files for each host it sees. Although the individual file
is small (the precise size depends on the options on the plugin page), the
aggregate size - if you/your users run P2P file sharing, port scans, etc. is
quite large.

You'll need to use the filtering options (-B for the main, white/black lists
for netFlow, or the rrd filter itself) (or a combination) to limit what
you're storing information about.

Subject: [Ntop] ntop bug or what ?

hi,

I'm with ntop 2.2 under Gentoo (2.4.20-ck6 kernel, reiserfs)...
http://members.optusnet.com.au/ckolivas/kernel/

What happens is that ntop has been crashing w/o any obvious reason... for
the second time my disk become full...
The problem as I find out was the rrd-plugin... At the moment I'm deleting
my /rrd dir.. it is still deleting files already 20 min has passed
([EMAIL PROTECTED]) from the time I started it and from 4.7 GB now I have 21GB
free, and still deleting !!

Any idea why this happen ....
Does this problem still exist in 2.2c (just upgraded, waiting to finish
deleting to run it..). Is there a solution ?
what can be the reason ..?
