[Ntop] MySQL

Recently I downloaded ntop 2.2c but I want to connect to MySQL because ntop uses all my resources and after 10 minutes ntop is stopped. Somebody told me that if I connect to MySQL ntop uses less resources, is it true?, where can I get the structure of the MySQL tables for ntop, the tar  that I downloaded doesn�t have.
