Nope, idle host still exists - look in globals-defines.h for the entire set of tunable values (with, BTW, if I may pat my self on the back) some comments that explain each one of 'em...
You could set the idle periods 'high' - maybe 72 hours - that way the common hosts (people connecting to the network every day) will always be there, but one-timers would eventually disappear. But this will take more memory than a 10 minute purge. Read the discussions in docs/FAQ for more, esp. the probabilistic nature of the purge. -----Burton > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of > Clinton Hardwick (C) > Sent: Tuesday, December 23, 2003 12:24 AM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: [NTOP] sticky hosts > > > Hi > > Is there anyway to get similar results to the sticky-host option but > in a more controllable fashion? > > With this option enabled, I get a must better view of my network but > obviously it soon consumes too much memory. > > I have read about adjusting the IDLE_HOST setting at compile time, but > I think this refers to earlier releases. > > > > _______________________________________________ > Ntop mailing list > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > http://listgateway.unipi.it/mailman/listinfo/ntop > _______________________________________________ Ntop mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://listgateway.unipi.it/mailman/listinfo/ntop
