- I won't be complying with your request for additional information.
Instead, I've dumped the win32 version and am now playing with Linux.
(If you still want the debugging info, let me know, I can hook up the
"old" machine and put it back to work long enough to get the data for
you)

I went with redhat fedora core 2.  I haven't used linux in at least 6 or
7 years.  Install was easy.  Download and compile of ntop was also easy.
Long story short - I'm good to go :)
