What do you mean with "back traffic"? Do you mean the older posting in the list? Is there no searchengine so I can find interesting post easily? I even tried google. :/

on this list, plus ./configure --help -
it shows how to point ntop at the files.

Do you mean the options like "--with-gd-lib=DIR"? If yes, there is no option like "--with-xmlversion=DIR". If I missunderstand you, then sorry!

But it's really not anything to
worry about, as discussed on list a couple of times.

I know, but I really tried to search in Archives. But why is in FAQ nothing about xmldump-plugin and about "how to keep data" if such questions are often asked?

Subject: [Ntop] How to keep data stored? How to compile ntop
withxmldump-plugin?

Hi There, I use ntop. It works well. But if I have to restart my PC, all collected data will be lost. :/ I know, ntop uses rrd. I thought, I could try cacti at http://raxnet.net/. To use it I have to dump the data from ntop. So I have to compile ntop with xmldump. I always get following error-message if I enter "./configure":

* WARNING: One or more items required for the xmldump plugin are
*           missing:
*
*                  xmlversion.h...no
*                  libxml2.so or libxml2.a...yes
*                  gdome.h...no
*                  libgdome.so or libgdome.a...yes
*                  glib.h...no
*                  libglib.so or libglib.a...yes
*                  glibconfig.h...no
*
* (yes means it was found, no means it was not found)
*
* ntop will run just fine without this plugin.

If I search these missing files manually (with locate) I found everything:
/usr/include/libxml2/libxml/xmlversion.h
/usr/include/libgdome/gdome.h
/urs/include/glib-1.2/glib.h
/urs/include/glib-2.0/glib.h
/usr/lib/glib-2.0/include/glibconfig.h
/usr/lib/glib/include/glibconfig.h

What's wrong?
