Smack... Of course... The default prefix is /usr/local...

Try /usr/local/bin/ntop

also, you should specify the command line options, such as "/usr/bin/ntop -i
eth0 -w 3000". You may want to make sure that NTOP is in /usr/bin/ntop, as
some RPM packages put it in a different location. Gentoo ebuilds never put
stuff in the right spot >;(

Reread the messages - you've missed some notation of failure. One thought -
you need to be root to run 'make install'

Subject: [Ntop] Cant start Ntop

Well I did what was suggested, I built ntop 3.1 form scratch on my Red Hat
7.3 box, I didnt get any error messages during compilation. The steps
were:

1)./configure
2)make
3)make install

But now when I try to run it ia get this error:

bash: /usr/bin/ntop: No such file or directory

Now Im no genius in any of this, half of the time I dont even understand
the questions the others ask you, but I think this means that the file
needed to run ntop isnt where its supposed to be. Where is it?

Please help me guys, any kind soul out there who has the smallest amount of
mercy for someone who doesnt much about lnx.

Thanx..
