Hi, I'm using ntop for the first time via a span port on a cisco 6500. So far the results are really really good! Thanks to all the developers.
One of the main reasons why we wanted to use ntop in this situation instead of relying on cricket graphs was that we were hoping to make sure that the server we're investigating isn't experiencing traffic spikes. Cricket polls over a 5 minute interval, so if a server has a 97 Mbps spike for 30 seconds, it could look like an average of 9.7 Mbps spread over a 5 minute interval, which doesn't reveal that there could be a problem. What granularity does ntop use to generate its Network Load Statistics graphs? It seems like it's plotting points every two minutes. Is there a way to get ntop to tell me about traffic spikes in a shorter timeframe? Thanks again, Mike _______________________________________________ Ntop mailing list [email protected] http://listgateway.unipi.it/mailman/listinfo/ntop
