Ntop provides the persistence (in RRDs); you provide the presentation, mainly because you know best how the data should appear. This page exposes the current data http://tssyd:3000/dump.html in a variety of formats. If you don't like the default presentation, you can pick it up and store and process it as you wish. For example, I want persistence over ntop restarts, so I harvest the data with the modifications of the example programs (in the /www of the distro) and save the data in my own central site RRDs.
