No. ntop doesn't do SNMP. There is a plugin which allows ntop to MONITOR SNMP, but that's it. We discussed this on-list a couple of weeks ago although not in great detail.
You could probably create an SNMP trap generating plugin - that's just UDP broadcasts IIRC. Defining a MIB and making it accessible could also be done, but would be more work. Contact me off list if you are interested in sponsoring the development work. -----Burton -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Greg Griessel Sent: Tuesday, March 29, 2005 5:46 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [Ntop] Generating Alarms/Traps Hi all Does NTOP have tyhe abliity to generate a alarm or a SNMP trap when certain thresholds have been exceeded - for example i use ntop to monitor my companies WAN link to our corporate backbone - and i have serveral users that "HOG" or abuse the link when this happens i have to manually go look who (what IP address) is the "TOP talker/throughput" can i get ntop to warm me on such an occurance ? automatically _______________________________________________ Ntop mailing list [email protected] http://listgateway.unipi.it/mailman/listinfo/ntop _______________________________________________ Ntop mailing list [email protected] http://listgateway.unipi.it/mailman/listinfo/ntop
