Thanks But the log messages from my previous post
are while running from the command line. Is this likely to help with my daemon
mode problem? Colin From:

[EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Colin McGerty I would be very grateful if anyone can provide help with
the following problem. Ntop runs just fine on my Redhat 8.0 gateway if I
comment out the –daemon and start it from the command line with /usr/bin/ntop @/etc/ntop.conf but if I run it up in daemon mode, no packets are ever
seen. I did as suggested in the FAQ and recompiled the latest libpcap and ntop
but the result was the same. I’ve attached a complete problem report
which, unless you see anything relevant to your suggestion, I recommend you
remove from your reply as it’s annoyingly long. I should mention that I’m not a complete ntop
novice, I’m just trying to upgrade to the latest stable release. Thanks in advance, Colin <snip /> |
