Hi Daniel,

I experience the same problem as well, this happens on different
hardware and operating systems (various Linux distros, Freebsd). 
Sometimes the process completly dies, other times it will remain but
the web interface won't be responsive at all.

The only thing I've been able to do is have a cronjob to start ntop if
it isn't running, but that doesn't help when the process just stops
responding.
