I can't spell worth spilt beer, and my sentence construction would drive
(one in particular) of my High School English teachers to commit suicide
(that's just turnabout - I hope that plant died Mr. xxxx, I'm a lefty and I
really did need to put my notebook on the desk to record the pearls of
wisdom dripping from your lips), but I am a native speaker (of English, not
C) and usually do mean what I say :-) --- and I do know the diff between
trace and debug. <pthhht/>

Most of the startup problems should have logged error messages. I'd focus on
permissions - remember, you start as root, but the plugins run as the -u
user and so THAT userid needs to be able to read/write create directories
etc.

Looking through the plugin source I see RRD_DEBUG so I'll crank that up and
see what I get.
