Read the docs/FAQ discussions on memory usage. That will at least give you
a starting point.

Subject: [Ntop] ntop memory question

Hi,

I'm running ntop cvs for 2-3 weeks. At this moment ntop shows at it's
webpage Summary->Hosts aprox. 6 pages of hosts.

When I use top to see how much resources is ntop consuming I'm receiving
this:

user pri Ni Size Rss Share Stat %CPU %Mem Time CPU Command

ntop 24 0 145M 82M 1316 R 2.4 4.0 513:21 1 ntop
ntop 15 0 145M 82M 1316 S 1.6 4.0 472:21 1 ntop
ntop 15 0 145M 82M 1316 S 1.1 4.0 218:55 1 ntop
ntop 21 0 145M 87M 1572 R 0.9 4.3 0:0 1 ntop
ntop 16 0 145M 82M 1316 S 0.2 4.0 1:36 1 ntop
etc.

I have 12 instances of ntop.

It seems that ntop is eating up almoust all my memory and swap space .

Is this ok ?

TIA,
Marius
