Can't beawriter Sounds like ntop is already running... Read the man page - esp. the -w command and the writeup on -u. If that's not enough, there is more in docs/FAQ on these topics. ------Burton ________________________________ From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Annie Sent: Thursday, December 08, 2005 9:12 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [Ntop] Error open of /var/ntop/prefsCache.db failed. Can't be awriter Hi, I have enocuntered this error: Error open of /var/ntop/prefsCache.db failed. Can't be a writer when running ntop. In my config file, I have set -P /var/ntop and set chmod 666 prefsCache.db but still the error occurs. There is also another error I enocuntered: ***ERROR*** INITWEB: Binding problem - 'Address already in use' Check another instance of ntop is running or if the currewnt user (-u) can bind to the specific port. How do I check or which port should i bind the userid to and how to resolve these two errors? There is no packets captured when viewing from the web GUI. Greatly appreciate your help!!
