Ah ... Two different things ... That's why providing URLs / pages you are trying to use is important.
The -U option refers to the attempt to map an IP address back to the users' location on the "Information about" page (host details). The traffic map is a pictorial showing which local hosts have been in contact. That requires the dot tool. Dot the tool is part of graphviz. I haven't found it necessary to set anything as long as dot is in the path. -----Burton -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, December 21, 2005 1:47 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [Ntop] [SPAM] RE: NTOP 3.2 mapper.pl I read the man page for mapper.pl but don't understand the reference to www/Perl/mapper.pl. I entered the url http://www.multimap.com into the -U option. When I click IP, Local, Network Traffic Map, I get the following error: Missing 'dot' tool (expected /usr/local/bin/dot). Please set its path (key dot.path) here <editPrefs.html>. I don't see this option in the editPrefs.html page.
