Luca and I usually use Fedora Core ... Not always current, I was on 2 up
until the 3.2 release, he was on 4 AFAIK.  But we also play with or work on
a bunch of them.

I'd advocate one that makes it easy to install the required tools and
doesn't throw on a bag o' stuff when doing a minimal install, since for real
usage, the machine should be dedicated to ntop (both for performance and
security).

So my *PERSONAL* preferences are Gentoo or Fedora (but I still end up
removing a lot of cruft).  I know of NO REASON you can not use ANY distro -
at worse you will have to compile from source.
