Whoops. I recall reading that now, sorry.

Nope ... Gary - pcap_setnonblock is only relevant for FreeBSD - it
worked
around a bug in 4.x.

Check to see if the "--pcap_setnonblock" is enabled. If so, disable
it.

Also, there are many "built in" Windows tools to do what you want as
well.
I'm thinking mostly Perfmon. It will also allow you to create alerts
based
on defined thresholds and such.

I would also look at moving NTOP to a dedicated machine, running Linux
or
Unix (much better threading and memory management, not to mention no X
eating cycles) using a Hub or network tap to capture the data required.

Dennis,

You might want to check out MRTG. It does just what you're looking for
in a much lighter-weight package.

HiHo,

i´m using ntop on a win2003server. it´s a nice programm :)
but
it needs too much cpu-power if there are many connections to the
server.

Is it possible to reduce the cpu-load?

I just need "actualThpt" and "actualPktsThpt" . all the other things
could be turned off.

I hope this is possible because cpu-load is up to 100% if the server
shares more then 30mbit :(

Sorry for my bad english ;) i´m german.

btw : i will donate you. how can i do this? best would be with
paypal.

cya
Dennis
