Sounds like you want a custom plugin - plugins have access to the entire
"Host Traffic" (and other internal) structures and/or can (via BPF filter
expressions) see actual packets.

Anything further belongs in ntop-dev.

Subject: [Ntop] ntop and triggers

Hi all,
I'd like to use ntop as an active monitoring tool in such a way that if it
detects a user-defined condition, it starts a user-defined action.
For example, if it detects the use of MSN messenger from ip x.x.x.x it
alerts the network admin, or it starts an external script.

Can ntop do such a work?

Thanks in advance
Stefano
