Try running w/ --trace-level 5 (-t 5) that should give more messages and might show which one gdbm can't read.

I did an install last week, and manually started it fine, following the instructions here: http://homepage.mac.com/duling/halfdozen/ntop-Howto.html When I tried to get ntop to start automatically, it would fail. Today I removed that installation, and installed from Darwinports again. I get to the Fingerprint: Loading signature file, then I receive a fatal gdbm read error. I'm guessing this is a permissions or ownership issue, but I can't see to figure it out. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks, John aladdin:/opt/local/var/ntop osh$ sudo ntop @/opt/local/etc/ntop/ ntop.conf -d Processing file /opt/local/etc/ntop/ntop.conf for parameters...
