My NTop command is this: ntop -i eth0 -M -u ntop -t 5 -w 192.168.10.98:3000 -p "FTP=ftp|ftp-data,HTTP=http|www|https|ndl-aas,DNS=name|domain,Telnet=telnet|login,NBios-IP=netbios-ns|netbios-dgm|netbios-ssn,Mail=pop-2|pop-3|kpop|smtp|imap|imap2|lotusnote,SNMP=snmp|snmp-trap,NEWS=nntp,NFS=mount|pcnfs|bwnfs|nfs|nfsd-status,X11=6000-6010,SSH=ssh,Messenger=virtual-places"
It's very long. I caught the jist of the options like "ftp|ftp-data" match whatever is in /etc/services. Is that correct? It seems as though lotusnote for Mail, Sametime (virtual-places) for Messenger, ndl-aas (squid proxy) for HTTP, and a few others. I am getting a lot of data in "other" and the graphs don't display correctly. Am I doing something wrong? Also, is it possible to just execute "ntop" and have it call a file with all the options already in it? I thought I saw that somewhere.
