Hi Michael, One thing to check is whether your services file has all the entries for items like "ftp", "ftp-data" etc. as that is how those entries are translated to the corresponding port numbers which ntop uses to classify traffic.
Having said that, I have experienced the same problem as you in the past, and I have not found an answer in either the FAQ or by searching the newsgroups. I hope someone more knowledgeable about ntop will explain how you can obtain details on the traffic being classified as "Other" so that you can update the protocol list accordingly. I will watch this thread with interest. Cheers, Vaughan But on the Summary/Traffic/GlobalTCP-UDP Distribution page, I see
reasonable numbers for everything except, at the bottom, where it says "Other TCP/UDP-based Protocols", I see a really big number: 2.2GB over about 22 hours. So, what the heck is this?
