All, we have successfully been using Nprobe 3.0 on a Windows box for some time
now.
Now we are testing with Nprobe 4.0 ... and we're seeing problems. The Ntop
collector is failing to show NetFlow statistics with Nprobe 4.0 and we think it
might be related to Nprobe's -q option.

>From the Nprobe description of the -q parameter, it seems appropriate for our
>configuration because our host has multiple interfaces.

However, once we remove the -q option, Ntop starts to report NetFlow statistics
and other traffice information.

Did the -q option change between Nprobe version 3.0 and 4.0?

We know that Nprobe v4.0 is successfully creating flows because we applied the
-D option and see flow log files.

Here is an example of what we're doing:
nprobe /c -i 2 -q localhost:2055 -n localhost:2055 -a
The -q and -n options have the same localhost:port

It doesn't matter if we run Nprobe v4.0 as a service or from the command line.

Since we're not seeing any messages on the screen, we plan to run Nprobe v 4.0
with the -b 2 parameter to get more diagnostics.

Any ideas/thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Nancy
