I haven't had much luck with 3.3 code on my FreeBSD 6.1. After playing
around for about a week I gave up and went back to 3.2.1. I like some
of the bells and whistles of 3.3, but just couldn't spend the time on it
right now. I definitely think it's very picky on compiler flags and
what types of threads are used - especially with FreeBSD.

I tried the port of course - which took FOREVER to get up to date with
all the dependencies. Also got the source from SVN. I know most *BSD
people say to use the ports first, but the nTop people say to use the
source. Maybe give that a try and READ all the info about compiler
options and stuff.

Subject: [Ntop] ntop v.3.3 locks after a few seconds

Hello

We run ntop on a single CPU Pentium 4 with 1 GB Memory and a Quad Fast
Ethernet Controller. The OS is an actual FreeBSD 6.2 and the latest port
(ntop v.3.3)

We capture traffic on 2 interfaces and like to have them merged in ntop.

ntop_enable="YES"
ntop_flags="-n -o -d --use-syslog=daemon -w 10.62.148.48:4000
--interface='hme0,hme1'"

After a few seconds or minutes the ntop CPU Load diasappears and we have
some ERRORS in the Logfiles, and it seems to no longer collect data and
Web-Access is also no longer possible.

Any help appreciated. Thank you.
