I haven't had much luck with 3.3 code on my FreeBSD 6.1. After playing around for about a week I gave up and went back to 3.2.1. I like some of the bells and whistles of 3.3, but just couldn't spend the time on it right now. I definitely think it's very picky on compiler flags and what types of threads are used - especially with FreeBSD.
I tried the port of course - which took FOREVER to get up to date with all the dependencies. Also got the source from SVN. I know most *BSD people say to use the ports first, but the nTop people say to use the source. Maybe give that a try and READ all the info about compiler options and stuff.
