Hello,

I'm new to the ntop mailing list, but I use ntop for some years and I like
this tool very much.

But I miss an importend feature for mobile use of nTop in different
networks: How can I analyse the data offline, like a LAN analyser does: open
capture file(s) and review all statistics (and packets)

1. When I load gathered nTop data (var/ntop/share) to a local nTop
installation (Linux partition, VMWare Image or nTop Windows Version) I cant
review loaded nTop data also trying several options and/or setting system
date back.

2. Yes, nTop is Web based and so you can say, there are wget, curl, lots of
offline browsers ... wget and curl can save the html sites with the
statistic tables - that's just a little inception, but whats with the lot of
pie's and diagrams. No one of the offline browsers I tried is able to create
a complete offline Web-Image of gathered nTop data. Most problems are with
the JS based pie graphes and also not all RRD graphes will be saved to png
or html's are not propper rewritten to the generated png files. Best results
I've got with httrack, but unfortunally I lost the httrack-profile from the
one successful try I did some weeks ago and I cant reproduce the one
importend setting that avoid the lots of httrack error messages: "cant
analyse html file, it looks binary".

3. I cant find options to force ntop to web-cash its dynamic content for the
pie's and RRD-graph-images to can remap this to the wget retrieved html
files with a script.

So I want to ask the ntop mailing list (my last chance) for some hints,
options/tricks to

get ntop in a offline browsing mode for sampled data from a different
location and network in the past

or scripts, offline browser that are working with ntop . all that can help
to get nTop mobile.

thx in advance, Steffen
