Hello Luca,

I've just compile V3.3.6 on Suse 10.3 successfull ,but I've some
comments and questions

Comments : I couldn't find it in any documentation
To install it properly I need
to install the following additional packages : rrdtool-devel
and libpcap-devel
to "delete" the text "X11R6" in configureextra/LINUXsuse to
set SuSE specific flag values to LDFLAGS="${LDFLAGS} -L/usr/lib"
When starting ntop I got a errormessage. Using Google ( or the
mailinglist) I got the info "start it from the source" -> ./ntop

Questions:

    I've compiled ntop under /root/install/ntop.
Now I recognise that this was a not a good idea. I need to start
ntop from this and could delete this directory. Correct ?

Under Ntop 3.3 ( Suse package ) there was a config file
"etc/sysconfig/ntop" , where I could saw the ntop configuration . Where
is it now located ?

Under Ntop 3.3 ( Suse package ) it was easy to start ntop with
/etc/init.d/ntop start / stop. And it starts after a reboot.
What I need to do now , if I do not want to start it manually
after a reboot ?
How could I stop ( not kill ) Ntop from the command line ?

Best regards

Rolf
