Hello people,

I've been searching through your mail archives and googled a lot about
the AS-list.txt file, and how to update it. One suggests using the
reports from cidr-report.org, but I lack a lot of European prefixes in
that file. I've taken the liberty of writing a new script to update
the file. It takes it's data from various whois dumps, particularly
RIPE and RADB on APNIC. It also uses the origins report from ARIN.
When I ran the script, I got about 384000 prefixes, which should match
pretty well, as far as I see it.

It does not contain prefixes from LACNIC or AfriNic, as I couldn't
find any data usable on their ftp servers.

I thought I wanted to share my script with you, but please, use it on
your own risk, as I will not support it, but if you find anything
critical, please let me know.

The file generates a file called AS-list.txt in your current working
directory. If you want to have it automatically place it in /etc/ntop/
or where ever, you can update the outputfile variable in the script.

The script is written in ruby, and requires you to have curl in your $PATH.
