I'm not having trouble with the site, but the last time I converted & posted it was '06.

(timing out) Will see if this is posted somewhere else. Anyway, I will look at Unix - was just integrating NTOP with Cisco FMS, and dealing with Windows right now. Also the reason I am not checking around for other stuff right now to monitor the FC frame encap'ed in ethernet. I will take a look at what I can do on the Unix side too, just more familiar with ntop on the Windows side. I'm sure it's online in a million places as well - and someone just posted something about updated doc in pdf. Requirements really depend on peak throughput, number of hosts, history retention requirements, etc. I'd say almost any newer PC with 500MB plus of RAM would be OK. If you're worried about it, don't use WINDOWS! OK, seriously, if you're worried about it get the latest dual/quad core with 1GB plus of RAM and 80GB+ hard drive. If you're only interested in SAN traffic (FC), check around and make sure nTop will work for you. I know there is/was some SAN plugins, but I don't think they're used much, mostly IP traffic. If you're doing iSCSI I'm sure it will be fine. Also, my real question right now is identifing requirements for a Windows based NTOP machine. I need to know what to order, or aquire, to continuously run NTOP on a Cisco MDS SAN.
