I spend 4 hours today trying to get ntop 3.3 working on freebsd 6.3. None of the (documented/man pages? --help?) pcap_nonblocking, set-pcap-nonblocking, set_pcap_non blocking options worked, (and are not even in the 3.3 source code), so, sorry, I did two things, and don't know which one fixed it:
#1, I upgraded the old 2007 3.3 version to 3.3.8 (and will be submitting a ports pr to freebsd for it) #2, I deleted an old thread library. pkg_delete linuxthreads\* #3, before I tried the web gui, I tested it with telnet: telnet localhost 3000 GET / HTTP1.0^j^j I really don't know which one fixed it, but I didn't see where ntop was trying to pull in linuxthreads. Symptoms were ntop 3.3 starts, but you can't pull anything from the web gui I will be trying this on a couple of other freebsd 6.3 systems and maybe I can figure out what I did to fix it. (yes, three different thread libraries are native on freebsd 6.3, all three broken somewhere) -- Michael Scheidell, CTO >|SECNAP Network Security Winner 2008 Network Products Guide Hot Companies FreeBSD SpamAssassin Ports maintainer _________________________________________________________________________ This email has been scanned and certified safe by SpammerTrap(r).
