Thx for replying Yuri.

Why im asking this is because i don't use any conf-file but in hte startup ntop tells me that som flags are "set from prefs file":
NOTE: Interface merge disabled from prefs file

I have search my comp for this setting in any conf-file but i cant find it!

thx

Hi all.

Im having big trouble getting ntop stable on my Debian Etch machine.
After 5-10 minuts i get segmentation fault, looks like this:

//usr/local/bin/ntop -u root -i eth1 --no-fc --w3 -4 -m
10.0.2.0 /24,10.0.4.0/24,10.0.5.0/24,10.0.7.0/24,10.0.8.0/24,10.0.9.0/24
-p /usr/local/etc/ntop/protocol.list --use-syslog=local1/
/Wed Jan 21 10:27:55 2009 NOTE: Interface merge enabled by default/
/Wed Jan 21 10:27:55 2009 Initializing gdbm databases/
/Wed Jan 21 10:27:55 2009 NOTE: Interface merge disabled from prefs file/
/Segmentation fault/

Yes, running as root to eliminate any permissions problems. Also; where
is the conf-file? I can't locate it in /etc/ntop/
Write if wherever you want and then include it while starting ntop using
"@filename".
Y.

Many thanks.
