Just an update;
I did start ntop as $ntop i eth1 -w 4000 and still got hangs after
5-20 minutes. Then i deleted all *.db files in the ntop folder,
restarted and now it has been running for over 24 hours. Next week i
will try in i can user -m flag.

I'm very happy.
