you using port mirroring, taps, netflow / sflow, what?  
 
run tcpdump on host and make sure you can see interesting traffic there first.

i am new to NTOP
i installed ntop successfully 
i have a server with fedora core 7 OS
but i am not been able to monitor the customers traffic
