Hmm. That might be a way to go. The problem would be the handling of
the code fork. The NTP is so ifdef'ed ugly that new ifdefs are likely
to be viewed with considerable resistance. On the other hand, if
the conversion isn't too painful and still remains compatible with
systems without libtecla and at the same time improves the interface,
it might be able to be pushed through.

The NTP project is very receptive to code contributions, but there
has been some push back lately towards requiring new add-on libraries
that might not be available on all platforms.
