Dear Parents/Guardians,

Many of you will have heard that a backpack believed to belong to Mariam
Makhniashvili has been found in the rear parking lot at 120 Eglinton
Ave. E. The bag was open when found. Contents included school books and
loose leaf binders. Police believe that the bag may have been moved
prior to its discovery. Officers will be canvassing the neighbourhood
for witnesses and checking available video from the area. Up to forty
officers will be searching for additional clues for as long as there is
light today. They are also asking residents to remember back to the days
after Mariam's disappearance to try to recall anything they might have
seen that would help in their investigation. If you have any
information, please call Crime Stoppers at (416) 222-TIPS (8477). Our
school community joins with students, parents, and residents all across
the city to hope that Mariam will soon be found safe.

Please have a safe and happy Thanksgiving weekend.

Joel Gorenkoff
