On Thursday, March 27, 2014, students who entered Grade 9 during the 2012-2013
school year will be writing the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT).
Students who began Gr. 9 prior to 2012-2013 and have still not completed the
test will be writing as well, along with students who were unsuccessful last
year.

Students writing the test are expected to arrive at school by 8:30 a.m. to
allow for any weather or transit delays. The test will begin promptly at 8:45
and run until 11:55 with a break half way through the test. At the conclusion
of the test, students will be dismissed home as staff will be involved in
professional activities in the afternoon. Classes will be cancelled for the
entire day for students in grades 9, 11, and 12 (to allow for the
administration of this test and the professional development). We apologize for
any inconvenience caused.

The OSSLT, administered by Ontario's Education Quality and Accountability
Office (EQAO), is used to determine whether a student has the literacy (reading
and writing) skills required to meet the standard. The successful completion of
this test is a requirement for the Ontario Secondary School Diploma. If you
have any questions regarding the OSSLT please contact William Mack, Vice
Principal at: (416) 393-9180.

We wish everyone great success.
