Acknowledgements and Upcoming Events Charity Week: January 22-26, 2018. This year, the NT community will be raising funds for Horizons for Youth, a shelter for at-risk and homeless youth aged 16-24 in Toronto. Horizons for Youth also offers one-on-one case management, mental health & addictions services, housing support, an engaging day program and community support and aftercare. These holistic programs help residents leave the streets behind. Wednesday January 24, 2018 - NTCI School Council meeting. Evening agenda: School council General Meeting: 6:30 - 7 pm in room 215 Screening of "Screenagers": 7:30 - 8:45 pm in the school Auditorium The NTCI Parent Council, with the support of the parent councils of Lawrence Park Collegiate Institute, Leaside High School, and Hodgson Middle School, is presenting the film "Screenagers". The documentary explores parental struggles over social media, video games, academics and internet addiction and offers solutions to help kids find balance. While there is no admission fee, auditorium capacity is limited, so attendees must RSVP at this link: www.NTCI-Screenagers.webhop.org<http://www.NTCI-Screenagers.webhop.org> to reserve seats. Please remember to PRINT and BRING your tickets with you to gain entrance into the Auditorium. Upcoming Reporting Period Report cards will be distributed on Thursday February 8, 2018 during Home Form classes. Please ask your children to see their report cards at the end of the day. This reporting period will include an interim report card with a mark and comments for all courses. Grade 10 Civics and Careers students who will have completed their 0.5 credit in one of these areas will receive an additional report card indicating the final mark in this course. The school has been made aware of an upcoming "after party" taking place at a downtown club on Wednesday Feb. 15th starting at 9 pm. Students are purchasing tickets for $25. This is to inform you that this event is in no way a school sanctioned activity. There will be no school supervision on site. The school administration and staff are in no way involved in the organization of this event. I would highly discourage you from allowing your son or daughter to attend.
