Acknowledgements and Upcoming Events

Charity Week: January 22-26, 2018.

This year, the NT community will be raising funds for Horizons for Youth, a
shelter for at-risk and homeless youth aged 16-24 in Toronto. Horizons for
Youth also offers one-on-one case management, mental health & addictions
services, housing support, an engaging day program and community support and
aftercare. These holistic programs help residents leave the streets behind.

Wednesday January 24, 2018 - NTCI School Council meeting.

Evening agenda:

School council General Meeting: 6:30 - 7 pm in room 215

Screening of "Screenagers": 7:30 - 8:45 pm in the school Auditorium

The NTCI Parent Council, with the support of the parent councils of Lawrence
Park Collegiate Institute, Leaside High School, and Hodgson Middle School, is
presenting the film "Screenagers". The documentary explores parental struggles
over social media, video games, academics and internet addiction and offers
solutions to help kids find balance.

While there is no admission fee, auditorium capacity is limited, so attendees
must RSVP at this link:

www.NTCI-Screenagers.webhop.org<http://www.NTCI-Screenagers.webhop.org> to
reserve seats.

Please remember to PRINT and BRING your tickets with you to gain entrance into
the Auditorium.

Upcoming Reporting Period
Report cards will be distributed on Thursday February 8, 2018 during Home Form
classes. Please ask your children to see their report cards at the end of the
day. This reporting period will include an interim report card with a mark and
comments for all courses. Grade 10 Civics and Careers students who will have
completed their 0.5 credit in one of these areas will receive an additional
report card indicating the final mark in this course.

The school has been made aware of an upcoming "after party" taking place at a
downtown club on Wednesday Feb. 15th starting at 9 pm. Students are purchasing
tickets for $25. This is to inform you that this event is in no way a school
sanctioned activity. There will be no school supervision on site. The school
administration and staff are in no way involved in the organization of this
event. I would highly discourage you from allowing your son or daughter to
attend.

Upcoming PD Day and holidays
