So, I've recently acquired an older atom d510 system with 3 gigs of ram. Anyone using FreeNAS and have an idea of what kind of performance I'd get with that setup? I was thinking of using it to store media for the homestead. The wife is interested in ripping all the DVDs and getting them out of the living room. Anyone able to play dvd isos from a FreeNAS and happy with the performance? I also have about 100 gigs of FLAC files that I would stream to the living room and bedrooms. I considered trying to load server 2012 on it instead of FreeNAS, but I think the gui would kill performance.
