I have something I have been fighting with for a while and searching Google
has turned up nothing of relevance.

I work on a Windows 7 64 bit desktop, network level authentication is
supported and I am using RD protocol 8.0. I have a Windows Server 2008 R2
64 bit server that has remote desktop enabled (Allow connections only from
computers running RDP with Network Level Authentication). The domain
firewall is turned off. Both computers are on the same network and domain.

Once I finally get connected from my desktop, I can connect and disconnect
just fine. However when I reboot the server I can not connect until I
physically go to the server, log in and mess with the remote desktop
properties by switching between the less secure and more secure options.
And then maybe I can connect again. It's a pain in the backside because
the server is located at the other side of our warehouse which is quite a
walk. (not that I don't like the break but...)

I get the error:
RDP disconnected!
Remote Desktop can’t connect to the remote computer for one of these
reasons:
1) Remote access to the server is not enabled
2) The remote computer is turned off
3) The remote computer is not available on the network
Make sure the remote computer is turned on and connected to the network,
and that remote access is enabled.

Sometimes it starts to connect and disconnects. I'm at a loss. Anyone
have ideas to try or has seen this before?

Thanks - Kelli
