My biggest frustration, and why I've never really thought about it
seriously for $WORK is the price.  Very expensive from my past research
into it for that application.

Shadow Copies fills this requirement quite nicely for the most part.  Not a
replacement for backup, but in the 3-days-or-so-since-disaster scenario it
provides a great self-service facility for users to correct their mistakes
without IT intervention.

Agreed, but they all do to some extent.  :)
