Hi Its a dell so it activates with the Dell media, looking at dells website it just says to use the Dell media for the virtual server install and put the key in from the supplied coa it actually says Virtual key

OEM, Retail, VL media all use different keys in my experience. With that said, it should work since you are using the dell server 2008 disk with this the OEM key.
