Once you know THAT you can make a good guess as to whether or not the server loads can be reasonably virtualized.
If the question you are actually asking is "is it feasible to run multiple instances of SQL in a single VM" - the answer is a qualified yes. The qualification is whether or not the VM can meet the memory, processor, and IOPS requirements of all the instances. In reading and listening to some classes could I or should I take a my SQL instances out of all my physical boxes and make one VM server of just SQL and have all the installs that need SQL point to it so I end up having SQL on one VM box and odbc connectivity to it?
