We are using it here, my team and I are just getting up to speed on it. We currently use it in the DMZ to manage systems both on and off our network, we even deploy software to machines without requiring them to use VPN. IIRC the KACE 2000 does systems imaging duties and the KACE1000 manages the day-to-day-ish stuff including patching 3rd party apps. I am currently working this angle at the moment to replace Shavlik.
Near-term the KACE will replace both our Shavlik and SCCM. We're using it and are liking it.
