The problem is, sonic wall sales couldnt give me the answer and i waited 2 days for them to try and come up with it... but, I did find online, this link https://www.sonicwall.com/us/en/support/2213.html?fuzeurl=https://www.fuzeqna.com/sonicwallkb/ext/kbdetail.aspx?kbid=7768 which shows it CAN defintiely be done. so I guess I'm satisfied the UTM can do what I want.
Appreciate your input!. Yes you can configure content filtering by domain users/groups if you use "app rules" vs "user and zone screens". Although I haven't done this, it should work. You can call sonicwall sales at (888) 557-6642 for someone who can confirm what I said above. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Jesse Rink Sent: Monday, September 16, 2013 12:20 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [NTSysADM] SonicWall NSA220 with Premium Content Filtering I have been trying to get an answer from Sonic Wall for 2+ days now with DOCUMENTATION to prove their claims and cannot get anyone to answer me. This is really frustrating... All I want to know is, does the SonicWall NSA 220 (UTM firewall/filter, etc.) with the Premium Content Filtering option provide web filtering that allows specific filtering sets for users/groups within Active Directory (through LDAP connectivity/lookup). They keep pointing me to documentation for the Content Filtering Service - Premium 's Administrators Guide, but NO WHERE does it say anything about AD or LDAP, etc. of course, I can't call tech support and ASK without already having a serial #. Anyone using an NSA 220 with Premium Content Filtering?? This seems like such a simple question, argh. JR
